Human Beings Are Inherently Social Creatures
Human beings need the comfort of the group.
Isolated and alone, human beings are edgy and uncomfortable.
The Group Atmosphere Of Learning
One person cannot see all avenues and possibilities.
In the group, the combined intellectual capacity provides many more resources for each other to draw upon.
The Velja Approach To The Group
Students are told that they will derive a great deal more from their learning if they work together as a group.
No obligation.
No imposition of course.
It is a suggestion based on experience given by the adults.
Nothing more. Nothing less.
Students are told that if they are stuck on something,
that if they want to learn more quickly,
absorb more information,
be exposed to ideas they might not have thought up on their own,
the group would provide that which they seek.
Parents
Parents are told that they should encourage their children's social life.
That having parties, going on social outings, trips, vacations with other children,
will stimulate their child's cooperative learning processes.
in fact...the Parent socializing more themselves, will stimulate their own learning processes,
perhaps even stimulate a desire to learn again (which is so often effectively neutralized in the current school system).
It's All About Choice. It's All About Knowing That The Adults, That The Society Around You Wants Nothing More Than You To Learn And Grow And Be Happy.
Children Can Become Nothing But Infinite In Such An Environment.
